What is the SleepOUT?

SleepOUT for Youth is a unique fundraiser in support of youth homelessness programs in Ottawa. On December 1st 2016, hundreds of families, friends and community leaders will spend the night outside at TD Place Stadium, sleeping out in the cold to experience a small sliver of what it’s like to spend a night on the street. All funds raised from this incredible event will go to support programs and services for homeless youth, offered by the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa.

Q: Where will I be sleeping?
A: New this year, participants will have the opportunity to sleep on the field at TD Place Stadium. Each team will be assigned a “camp site” on the field, where they can spend the night. This is a unique opportunity to experience the stadium from a whole new perspective. It will certainly be a night to remember!

Q: Can anyone participate?
A: Anyone can participate, but it is strongly encourages that youth under the age of 18 are accompanied by an adult sleeper. All participants will be required to sign a waiver, and youth MUST have their waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

A: A team must consist of a minimum of 1 sleeper, and a maximum of 20. Please contact us if you are interested in submitting a team that consists of more than 20 members.

The event begins at 6:00 pm, with free entertainment, activities, and snacks throughout the evening until 11:00pm. A free breakfast will close the event at 7:00 am on Friday December 2nd.
