What is SleepOUT?
The Youth Services Bureau’s SleepOUT for Youth is a unique fundraising event in support of programs to reduce youth homelessness in Ottawa. Since 2012, youth and their families and friends, along with community and business leaders, have spent one night outside – without many of the comforts of home. The experience calls attention to the realities faced by well over 1,000 young people who find themselves homeless in Ottawa each year.
All funds raised from this incredible event go to support programs and services for homeless youth, offered by YSB. SleepOUT has raised over $500,000 to end youth homelessness in Ottawa, but over 1,000 youth still experience homelessness in Ottawa each year.
SleepOUT for Youth 2017
On November 30, 2017, hundreds of families, friends and community leaders will spend the night outside on the field at TD Place Stadium braving the elements to deepen our understanding of the uncertainty that comes with life on the street.
